Preparing for Your New Puppy - Part 2.  Food and Water requirements of your new Puppy.

Don't wait until your new puppy arrives home before going out to buy food for your puppy. When your pup arrives he will feels much safer and settle in much quicker if you have dog food on hand. Don't skimp on quality when buying food for your pup. Just as humans thrive on healthy good quality food so will your new pup.

Remember that your new dog is still only a puppy. And just as you would not feed a new born baby adult food, you need to purchase food suitable for a puppy. Aske your pet food supplier, vet or breeder about the most suitable food for your type of puppy. Buying the same type or brand as your puppy has been used too will help him to settle into his new environment as quickly as possible. you can gradually introduce new food options over the coming weeks as settles in. Keep in mind also that the amount of food your puppy needs and consums will gradually increase has he grows.

Water is a very important part of a human diet and the same is true of your new puppy. It is important that you provide fresh clean water for him to drink every day. This is especially true in hot weather. Remember also that the amount of water your puppy drinks is directly related to number of times that he will need to go to the toilet.
